Kelly Clarkson Covers Metallica's 'Sad But True' For Kellyoke

Kelly Clarkson covered Metallica's "Sad But True" for the "Kellyoke" segment of a recent episode of her talk show "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

"Hey, I'm you life/ I'm the one who takes you there/ Hey, I'm your life, I'm the one who cares," Clarkson sang during her performance. This is the first time Clarkson has covered the band on her show.

"Sad but True" is a song from Metallica's 1991 self-titled album. It was released in February 1993 as the fifth and final single of the album.

Clarkson covered Metallica three months after actress Isla Fisher appeared on Clarkson's talk show and convinced Kelly to cover the iconic metal band for a future segment.

"You should do 'Sad But True.' Your voice would be amazing," Fisher said at the time.

Genesis' Mike Rutherford Announces 2025 U.K. Mike + The Mechanics Tour Dates

Genesis' Mike Rutherford Announces 2025 U.K. Mike + The Mechanics Tour Dates

Genesis co-founder and lead guitarist/bassist Mike Rutherford recently announced the schedule for his upcoming U.K. Mike + The Mechanics tour.

The trek, titled "Looking Back - Living The Years 2025 Tour," is set to commence on March 3, 2025 with a concert at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall.

The final show of the 30-date tour is scheduled to take place at London's Royal Albert Hall on April 14, 2025.

"It's exciting to announce that we will be touring the Mechanics again," Rutherford said in an official statement. "Getting back on the road with the guys last year was a real pleasure. Even though it had been four years, we slotted back into the old ways, the old jokes and the camaraderie like it had been a day!"

Mike + The Mechanics previously went on a tour of America in 2015, in celebration of "The Living Years." Their 2023 dates were dubbed "Refuelled!"

"We had so much fun on the last tour and the audiences were so gracious and warm," Rutherford added. "When we played the final show in Dusseldorf, we all agreed then that we wanted to do it all again. We can't wait to see you."

Rutherford formed the band in 1985 as a side project to Genesis and originally featured vocalists Paul Young and Paul Carrack. The group separated after Young's death in 2004, and reunited in 2010 with new vocalists Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar.

Alternate Version Of David Bowie's 'Lady Stardust' Released From Upcoming Box Set

Alternate Version Of David Bowie's 'Lady Stardust' Released From Upcoming Box Set

Parlophone Records has released an alternate version of David Bowie's "Lady Stardust" from an upcoming Box Set.

David Bowie Rock 'N' Roll Star!, a 5CD and 1 Blu-Ray Audio set, is scheduled for release on June 14. It explores Bowie's journey through the creation of Ziggy Stardust, and the recording of the iconic The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars album.

The hitherto unknown "Lady Stardust (Alternative Version - Take 1)" took its original producer by surprise.

Producer Ken Scott recalls, "This was a shock when I first heard it. I pulled up the faders and suddenly, what the hell? I had no recollection of it being like that originally, but I guess it was just a guide vocal. But it sounds great, is really interesting and brings a totally different feeling to the song."

The band line-up for "Lady Stardust (Alternative Version - Take 1)" is Bowie on vocals, Mick Ronson on piano, Trevor Bolder on bass and Woody Woodmansey on drums.

Scott singles out Ronson for praise, saying, "Ronno on piano is very good indeed. The Trident Studio piano was just amazing, a Bechstein grand from around 1850 and I think the hammers had been treated with varnish or something - it was the best rock and roll piano in the whole world."

Other unreleased highlights on Rock 'N' Roll Star! include an unheard version of the deep-cut classic "Shadow Man" and an up-tempo take on The Who's "I Can't Explain," which Bowie would later slow down and cover for the Pin-Ups album.

Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' Named Best-Selling Vinyl Album Of The 21st Century

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours has been named the best-selling vinyl album of the 21st century, from records that were released between 1970 and 1999.

Despite never sending one of its timeless tracks to No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart, Rumours is one of the most successful and enduring LPs ever released in the U.K. - it's spent a total of 1,042 weeks inside the Official Albums Chart since its release in 1977.

Fleetwood Mac's only U.K. No. 1 single remains 1968's Albatross.

This week, Rumours is back inside the Top 10 of the Official Albums Chart, solidifying its status as one of the most popular records with the British public of all time.

According to Official Charts Company data, Rumours has logged 280,000 vinyl sales since the beginning of the new millennium.

Coming in at No. 2 is Pink Floyd's 1973 magnum opus Dark Side of the Moon, considered to be one of the greatest rock albums ever made. Dark Side of the Moon still ranks as one of the Top 10 best-selling albums of all time in the U.K..

Completing the Top 5 are Nirvana's generation-defining second album Nevermind (No. 3), Oasis's best-selling album in the U.K., (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (No. 4) and Queen's Greatest Hits (No. 5), which remains the best-selling album of all time in the UK.

Siouxsie Sioux Duets With Iggy Pop On New Version Of 'The Passenger'

Siouxsie Sioux Duets With Iggy Pop On New Version Of 'The Passenger'

Siouxsie Sioux has teamed up with Iggy Pop for a new rendition of "The Passenger."

The song was originally co-written and recorded by Iggy Pop for his iconic album Lust For Life, which dropped in 1977.

"The Passenger" was then re-recorded a decade later, by Siouxsie And The Banshees, for their 1987 covers album Through The Looking Glass.

Now, nearly 35 years later, Sioux and Pop teamed up to remake the song for the third time for a new advert to promote Magnum ice cream.

In the ad, an actress is seen eating an ice cream bar while riding on a train and, in the background, the new rendition of the song can be heard.

In a press statement, Pop praised Siouxsie, saying she "can sing like a bird," and adding, "I've always thought she was a great lady. Her version of the song was already special, but what happened here, singing together, is really unique. Like 'Volare,' the orchestral treatment and marriage of voices flies free, in a spirit of joy."

Siouxsie added, "I love this song, and I've always loved Iggy's voice. I adore how instinctive and spontaneous it all feels and to hear my voice with Iggy's is such a dream."

Longtime Electric Light Orchestra Keyboardist Richard Tandy Dead At 76

Longtime Electric Light Orchestra Keyboardist Richard Tandy Dead At 76

Richard Tandy, the longtime keyboardist of the Electric Light Orchestra, has died at the age of 76.

ELO founder Jeff Lynne shared the news on social media.

"It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of my long-time collaborator and dear friend Richard Tandy. He was a remarkable musician & friend and I'll cherish the lifetime of memories we had together," Lynne wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

Lynne also shared a number of photos and a video featuring him and Tandy in the post.

The British musician joined ELO in 1972 and was part of the band when it split in 1986.

Tandy began as ELO's bass player and shortly switched over to keyboards.

Tandy was a multi-instrumentalist, whose palette of keyboards included Minimoog, Clavinet, Mellotron, and piano.

His keyboards were a key part in ELO's sound, especially on the albums A New World Record, Out of the Blue, Discovery, and Time.

Tandy was the only past member to rejoin the band when Lynne revived the group as Jeff Lynne's ELO in 2014.

Tandy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 as a member of the Electric Light Orchestra.

Tandy's first marriage was to Carol "Cookie", which ended in divorce; he then married Sheila.
